After 40 years heading up the fundraising (and occasionally PR and marketing) programs for a small handful of San Francisco Bay Area nonprofits, Jack Soares retired. He now has more time to volunteer for a different small handful of San Francisco Bay Area nonprofits. Most notably, he serves as president of the teeny, tiny Friends of the Oakland Tool Lending Library, as an advisor to Be A Mentor, and, once in a great while, as a reader and bench builder with Chinese Whispers. He is also known for sharing Idle Thoughts and items Of Possible Interest.
