Robert P. Holley is a retired professor of library science at Wayne State University, in Detroit, MI.
He received his undergraduate degree from Xavier University in 1967, a doctorate from Yale University in 1971, and master’s in library service from Columbia University in 1973. He did so with generous support from multiple organizations.
He has held various library positions at Yale University and the University of Utah in addition to Wayne State University. He has been an active scholar with over 240 entries in Google Scholar.
With a wish to pay back and no children, he has been an active donor for many years and is leaving a substantive legacy to various charities. He is also making the maximum annual deductible contribution from his tax-sheltered accounts. In the past year, he made contributions ranging from $100 to $25,000 to thirty charities.
