Amanda ReCupido has over 15 years combined in-house and PR agency experience working with media companies, arts organizations, and nonprofit clients to deliver strategic communications and train executive-level spokespersons. As COO of Zapwater, her operational focus ensures teams are supported and projects are completed on-time and to budget while exceeding client expectations. Prior to Zapwater, she held the position of Senior Vice President at Public Communications Inc. (PCI), where she oversaw the agency’s nonprofit sector of business—including social services, education, philanthropy, government, and cultural clients. Prior to PCI, Amanda held roles at Goodman Theatre, Time Out Chicago magazine, New York’s 92nd Street Y, and Smithsonian Media.

Amanda is a frequent guest speaker, appearing at several colleges and universities including Suffolk University in Boston, Northwestern University, DePaul University, and Columbia College. She has also presented to groups such as the Giving Institute, Chicago Loop Alliance and at Big Marker’s Business Unusual conference.

She has chaired and served on the host committee of multiple fundraisers and currently serves as President of the Downers Grove Public Library Foundation. She holds a BA from Illinois Wesleyan University, and certificates from New York University and Northwestern University.
