Hello from Susan Sanow at Blue Avocado! It’s been a long, hot summer and now the presidential race is heating up, too. We think it’s time to cool off with some cool savings. Yes, it’s time for popular, money-saving special deals just for Blue Avocado readers.
This time around we’ve got software, conferences, webinars, books, and even a museum discount. All are accessible only between September 18 and September 21, 2012. And there is one very special deal from Cornerstone that’s a one day only deal (September 21).
All deals end on 5:00 pm Pacific Time/8:00 pm Eastern Time on Friday, September 21.
And thanks to all the nonprofits, businesses, and other nice folks who have helped us make this special issue such fun! — Susan Sanow, Blue Avocado Project Manager
P.S. Watch for an email survey from us next week about the credit union for nonprofits, and then our October issue with “Deconstructing Sustainability,” “Reflections on the Marriage Equality Campaign,” “A Board Member Gets Out of Line,” humor from Vu Le, and more. See you then! — Jan Masaoka
Free Online Classes for First 100 Nonprofits
UPDATE: Interest was overwhelming! We have our 100 nonprofits.
The first 100 Blue Avocado readers to respond will receive 5 coupons each to choose free online classes from Cornerstone’s offerings (such as software tutorials, leadership training, and project management). These “Gifts of Learning” come from the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation which works with organizations around the world to help train, develop, and empower their staff.
How to obtain them: Only U.S. nonprofits are eligible (no unaffiliated individuals). Starting 9 am Pacific Time (12 noon Eastern) on Friday, Sept 21, the first 100 emails sent to Blue Avocado‘s Susan Sanow at susan@blueavocado.org with the Subject line “Cornerstone On Demand” will be awarded the courses. Your email must include your nonprofit’s name and tax ID number, and the contact person’s name, email, and phone number. Once we reach 100 eligible organizations, the offer will end. If your organization is awarded a Gift of Learning, you will be contacted by the CornerstoneOnDemand Foundation.

Friday, September 28 from 10:00 am Pacific (1:00 pm Eastern). Take a fresh look at choosing the mix of programs, earned income, and donations that will be sustainable for your organization. This model can be used as an adjunct to or substitution for traditional strategic planning. Space is limited. Reserve your webinar seat by September 21 or now.
