After the North Carolina and Indiana primaries, we decided to check in with some nonprofit folks about who they’re supporting–as individuals–for president:
Hillary Clinton for President: Hillary’s supported me and people like me all her life. Did you know that foster children have no due process rights? Hillary’s been involved with these issues from the beginning of her career and she’s still working on these issues.
Nancy Ayoob, Pacifica, California, attorney, adoptive parent, foster care volunteer and activist
John McCain for President: I like him. He’s down to earth. He’s not pretentious. He was a prisoner of war for seven years. He has a very inspirational story.
Loretta Chow, San Francisco, California, retired social worker, St. Mary’s Hospital
Ralph Nader for President: He’s the only person who shares my views: I want the war ended immediately, single-payer health coverage, a serious attempt to take the corporations out of government.
Richard Muir, American Civil Liberties Union, San Francisco
Barack Obama for President: The fact that Obama was a professional community organizer in Chicago (and never served the Board of Walmart!) is important to me. The new US face that Obama will give to the world will help heal the world from the Bush regime.
Chris Thomas, Program Director, Center for Partnership Studies, Pacific Grove, California
