Hello nonprofits! Great to see you all again and you are in for a huge treat with this issue of Blue Avocado. From fundraising to millennials, to HR and change management, we’ve got you covered! And we’d love to hear from you if you have suggestions for topics not addressed here, or if you have any hard-won insights or trials and tribulations you’d like to share with our audience.
As always, this issue has tons of great, practical tips designed to fuel your impact and help you work smarter. Our first piece shares a few suggestions for how to win back lapsed donors and revitalize your network of supporters. From there, enjoy our new regular column on nonprofit millennial engagement, NextGen Nexus, with Derrick Feldmann, who kicks things off by helping us rethink how to approach philanthropy and fundraising with the next generation of supporters. Then onto HR, where Ask Rita breaks down how to navigate the FMLA waters and we also offer tips on managing remote teams as you take your office virtual. Finally, we’ll share starter tips for new EDs and other nonprofit leaders managing big changes. And as we searched through our archives, we found an oldy but goody that offers a really useful, comprehensive accounting guide to track volunteer time.
Thanks much for your time and attention and looking forward to hearing from you with your thoughts and suggestions for new pieces, and as always, we hope you’ll leave this issue not only inspired, but inspired to action. After all, we’ve all got some serious work to do and the world needs your help now more than ever!
