Take a 3-Minute Vacation to a Peter & Gordon Concert

Aren't we all ready for a break from Michael Jackson? Peter and Gordon weren't anybody's #1 group, but it was always good to hear their songs come up on the radio. Gordon Waller died last month (July 2009), and reader Karen Aitchison sends us to this concert video of their unexpectedly beautiful song: I Go to Pieces, written by the brilliant Del Shannon. Trivia quiz: What was Peter Asher's connection to the Beatles? Write your answer in Comments below, baby boomers (and no fair looking it up!).

  • Hey, doesn't anyone remember "Woman" -- also a Paul McCartney song made into a hit by P&G. Paul was writing under the name "Bernard Webb" and as teenage lore had it at the time, gave it to Peter and Gordon to see if it would be a hit without his name attached.
