Take a 3-Minute Vacation with Fireworks
We wanted to start 2009 with a pyrotechnic display . . . here are three ways!
- Create your own on-screen fireworks display.
- Buy a scented candle and light it in your cubicle, office, lobby . . . instant aromatherapy!
- Watch fireworks artist Cai Guo-Qiang create a painting through fireworks (he did the fireworks for the Beijing Olympics opening).

Re: Candle Aromatherapy-- many work places have proscriptions against wearing scented products, for good reason...Now we want to encourage candle burning, releasing all manner of fake scents into the air that may be downright irritating to others? Vanilla, X-Mas potpourri, even chocolate cupcake scents are available.... I say put this idea back in the bottom of the hall closet where all the unused scented candles live. : ) Karen
Please be careful about suggesting people light candles in their cubes. In our building that has set off the ionization detectors and caused evacuation of 750 people from the building as well as automatically causing the local fire department to show up with several trucks.
Okay, we get it. No candles! Jan & Lynora
I have to say the best fun I've had in a long time was setting up my very own fireworks display today! What a great way to welcome in the New Year! --Pat Holloway, West Hartford Public Library, West Hartford, CT
